Welcome to MADARC

MADARC – The Maidenhead and District Amateur Radio Club – was formed in 1965 and is affiliated to the national society, the Radio Society of Great Britain (RSGB).

There is evidence of a club being in the town in the 1920’s. The club caters for both Licensed amateurs and short wave listeners. A lecture or talk on a subject allied to amateur radio is presented at some meetings by a visiting speaker or club member.

The Thursday meeting often feature a Video presentation on a subject related to radio.

The Club haa in the past been very active participating in RSGB organised field days in which the club has a successful record. In 1982 the club won the Frank Hoosen Trophy for the leading 14MHz station in National Field Day.

The Club call Sign is G3WKX.

Top Band & VHF foxhunts are well supported during the spring and summer and take place in the locality. The club holds the Longleat trophy (donated by Lord Bath) as outright winner of the mast erection competitions held at Longleat mobile rally in Longleat Park in Wiltshire. The Club also won the Trophy in 1982, the first year of the competition.

The Club Net is held every Sunday morning at 11:00 am local time on a frequency of 28.950 MHz USB.
